IHVN has trained more than 41,000 healthcare providers (including nurses, doctors and other health workers)for quality care to people living with HIV, TB, malaria, cancer and other diseases.
The Institute actively engages the Federal Ministry of Health, its departments and agencies on issues relating to the country’s human resources health policy, strategy and implementation modalities. Apart from trainings for health care workers, continuous quality improvement activities to progressively develop and sustain the quality of care provided to clients is carried out.
IHVN established four laboratory training centers equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for hands- on sessions in Asokoro Laboratory Training Center, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital complex, Ile-Ife, Plateau State Virology Research Centre (PLASVIREC) Jos, Plateau State, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano and a Clinical Training Center in University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
